Beach Alert (August 21-25, 2023)

The Vancouver Lifeguard Association is pleased to announce the return of the Beach Alert Jr.Lifeguard Camps. Supervised and taught by experienced Vancouver Waterfront Lifeguards, the VLA Beach Alert Camps have twenty years of experience teaching and providing a fun, safe and rewarding experience for kids ages 9 - 15. Great for kids with interest in learning water safety and lifesaving skills and those interested in Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and eventually National Lifeguard certification courses.
The VLA Beach Alert Jr. Lifeguard Camps
- Prepares participants for Bronze level lifesaving certification courses.
- Educate participants towards being safe in and around the water.
- Provide education and practice to work as a Pool / Waterfront Lifeguard.
- Introduce First Aid training including CPR (compressions only).
Candidates must wear their bathing suits to camp and bring
- SUNSCREEN
- FOOTWEAR
- TOWELS
- HAT
- WATER (no glass please)
Participants must be 9-15 years old and able to swim at least two lengths of a normal-sized pool (50m), tread water for at least one minute and are comfortable in deep water.

Please add courses to improve Swiming technics and style. My child swims but he can use more structured course to learn technics, speed, and competitive swiming
The kids always love the program!
Both my boys really enjoyed this camp. The instructors were great. Looking forward to doing more activities with Vancouver Lifeguard association.
