Bronze Medallion Challenge/Recert
The bronze medallion and Bronze Cross courses are prerequisites for lifeguard certification across Canada.
Competent swimmers, and those with some previous first aid experience are invited to challenge the Bronze Medallion through the Vancouver Lifeguard Association. Candidates are required to review material from the Canadian Lifesaving manuals as well as be aware of the required elements of the exam. Candidates can contact programs@vancouverlifeguards.com for specific details. This course has a timed swim of 400 meters in 12 minutes.
Please note: This is NOT a full course. It is a combo of challenge and recertification. I.e. all material is tested and candidates must be prepared for all skill components ahead of time
Prerequisites: Bronze Star OR 13 years of age.
A Canadian Lifesaving Manual is mandatory. It should be added on at checkout if candidate does not already have a copy.
